How is Jivitputrika celebrated?
Jitiya puja is also known as “Jivitputrika Vrat” or “Jiutiya.Jitiya is an important festival of married Nepalese women from Mithilanchal and Tharu women of all castes. Jitiya vrata is performed for the well-being and long life of your children. It is performed at Aswin Krishna Ashtmi usually during the time of Pradosh.The women keep a Nirjala fast for the well-being of her children. The Jivitputrika Vrat is celebrated from the Saptami to the Navami of the Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month.

Importance and Law:
It is believed that an eagle and a zorra who lived in a jungle near the Narmada River were friends. One day, several women came to perform the puja and the day. The too wanted to observe the Vrat. But the fox could not control his hambre. Therefore, she is there for food. On the other hand, the eagle observed the day with devotion. As a result, kids born to the Fox murieron few days after birth. Meanwhile, the descendants of Eagle were blessed with a long life. According to another story, Jimutavahana was a kind king of Gandharva. Jimutvanhan handed over his kingdom to his brothers and went to the woods to serve his priest. He would spend time taking care of his priest. One day I saw an old woman in mourning. When asking, she says that she belonged to a family of snakes (Nagvanshaki) and that she only had a child. But due to an oath, every day a snake is offered to Garuda as food and morning is the opportunity for his son to convert into his food.
Jimutavahana consoled him and promised that he would protect his son from Garuda. He decides to settle on the lecho de rocas as food for Garuda. Later, Garuda arrived and attacked the Jimutvahana with the nails. Garuda was surprised that Jimutavahana did not respond. Garuda asked for his identity. Jimutavahan described the entire scene. Garuda was pleased with the courage and benevolence of Jimutvahana. He promised Jimutavahana not to accept any sacrifice of the serpents. Jimutvahana saves the raza of the serpientes.
